I was never a fervent poster to lj, although I read my friends' updates every day, but even I can't believe it's been 9 months since I last posted an entry. I also seem to have reverted to lurker mode and, although I read tons of great fic, I'm very rarely commenting to the authors - my bad. All that is about to change, however, and - for those of you who still might have some interest in my (or mostly my family's) goings-on - see behind the cut.

My elder son, Chris, graduated with Honours from Glasgow University last summer. He came home for about 3 months and then left for a round-the-world trip. So far, he's been to Canada, Fiji, New Zealand and has now settled in Melbourne for a few weeks to build up his funds again. I think he's intending to move on to Asia in April but he's not decided where yet - probably Japan. He's doing this trip by himself and, I have to admit that Sandy and I were a bit worried but he's having a ball! Fingers crossed, but he's met great people, seen great places and he just sounds so happy with the way things are going whenever we speak to him. Oh to be young again! He's got a site with a log of his travels, if any of you are interested in having a look -

Jamie, my younger son, started his course at Uni last September and seems to be really enjoying this one - thank God! He's back living at home - saving money to go to the USA in the summer, working as a sports coach/cousellor at one of the sumer camps. He's managed to get a part-time job as a cocktail barman - for the first few weeks, his manager sent him home with homework, to learn how to make up 10 more cocktails each week - it was worse than his course exams!

Becca, my daughter is in her penultimate year at school - seems to be doing fine. She went to her first formal dance in January - a ceilidh. She looked absolutely beautiful - so grown up. It's been so long, I couldn't remember how to insert it into my post but did it eventually!

As for me, just truckling along as usual. It's Sandy's 50th birthday this year, August - bit of a milestone. He won't fly anywhere but I'm thinking of taking him to Ireland for a week or so and I think I'm going to Vancouver in November with a friend I've known for ages - just the two of us, so I'm looking forward to that!

I think once you get out of the habit of LJ- it's hard to get back into it, but I am happy to hear your news.

Your daughter looks lovely.

Thank you - I think so too.

I've not really been out of the habit - been checking friends pages and reading fic nearly every day. I think it's maybe because, although I still enjoy Buffyverse stuff, and still read my favourite authors there, I'm really into SGA fic nowadays and,to a lesser extent, SG1. While there are some familiar names, its all a bit different and new and I've been a bit reluctant to get involved. I feel like I'm writing my own report card - will try to do better.

Hi there - thank you. Course, it can all go pear-shaped anytime, but it's kinda nice when we're all doing fine. It's so great to be back talking to people!
